Victoria
Golf Club is truly a jewel among Canada's premium heritage golf
clubs. For more than a century, it has offered challenging oceanside
golf and unsurpassed sights. The club's location in Victoria BC
allows more days of play each year than any other course in the
country. Established
in 1893, Victoria Golf Club is the oldest golf club in Canada still
on its original site – a rocky point on the southern end of Vancouver
Island overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca in the Municipality
of Oak Bay.
Victoria Golf
Club is home to some 1,400 golfing and social members. The 35,000
sq. ft. clubhouse offers a full service pro shop, putting and chipping
greens, a warm-up practice range, guest lockers and complete clubhouse
services. Victoria
Golf Club's links course, with its breathtaking seaside scenery
and craggy coastline, is often referred to as the 'Pebble Beach'
of Canada. Enjoy golf year-round amid the scenic splendour of the
west coast.
The
course has been host to many RCGA and PNGA Championships, the Commonwealth
Matches, BC Men's and Women's Amateur Championships, and the Canadian
Men's and Women's Amateur Championships. Passing
sailboats, sea lions, eagles and other marine visitors are features
of every round. While most water hazards contain a variety of fish,
ours are stocked with porpoises and killer whales!
This summer
be sure to golf the Victoria Golf club with BC Golf Vacations.
