Buttle Lake,
a favourite with writer Roderick Haig-Brown, is located within Strathcona
Provincial Park, 40 km southwest of the city of Campbell
River.
Accessed off Highway 28 and Westmin Road, at Buttle Narrows. Buttle
Lake is a flooded forest, with deadheads and submerged stumps being
encountered, particularly close to shore.

Additional Info: Summer fishing. Wind caution for boaters, as
the lake is subject to sudden and severe storms. No fishing allowed
on Buttle Lake's tributaries. Good swimming near the Buttle Lake
and Ralph River campgrounds - No lifeguards are on duty. Waterskiing
is permissible. Accommodation available.
