Spend the afternoon basking in the sun or stroll and beachcomb along the driftwood-strewn shoreline. Fillongley provides great views across Lambert Channel to mountainous Hornby Island, and beyond that to the Coast Mountain Range on the BC mainland. Cycling is an ideal way to explore the relaxed and peaceful Denman Island.

There are only 10 vehicle/campsites at the park, which tends to fill up quickly in summer months. In July and August, reservations are highly recommended, as there's no telling in advance whether you'll find room here. Campers should have alternate camping plans on Denman Island if the park is full and you have no reservation.

The campground is located along the ocean in a forested setting on the east side of the island, about 2.5 miles (4 km) from the ferry dock to Vancouver Island.

Although the campsites are tightly packed together, with only concrete dividers to separate them, the sand and pebble beach that fronts the park is spacious and provides ample opportunity for exploring and, in season, hunting for shellfish for dinner.

Facilities at this small park include water, picnic tables, fire pits and toilets. Fillongley Provincial Park is open all year. Fees collected for services from April 1 to October 15. There is a winter fee charged from October 16 to March 31, but no services are provided, and campers must be self-sufficient. Fire bans are implemented during the dry summer season, so pack in a portable stove for cooking.

From Fillongley Park, paddlers can easily explore the waters around Denman Island and Hornby Island. Canoes and kayaks can set in at the beach at the campsites. This park does not have a boat launch. The closest boat launch is at Bill Mee Park, approximately 10 km away on East Road on Denman Island.

The land that is now Fillongley Provincial Park was bequeathed to the province of British Columbia by George Beadnell, who died in 1958 at the age of 89.

Beadnell was one of the first pioneers on Denman Island and, over the years, developed Fillongley into one of the most beautiful estates in the Gulf Islands. George Beadnell's grave is situated along the Homestead Trail, surrounded by beautiful heritage trees.
