Message
from the Organizers
The
Times Colonist 10k is a special event for Vancouver Island,
with over 7,000 runners and walkers from Canada and the
US joining to participate in exercise and fresh air in
the glorious setting of downtown Victoria. Participants
can choose to enhance their 10k experience by electing
to raise money through pledges for The Heart and Stroke
Foundation of BC and Yukon to help in the fight against
heart disease and stroke.
The Times Colonist 10k is hosted by the Victoria International
Running Society, a non-profit group that supports and
organizes many of the Island's track and field athletes
and events, including the upcoming Victoria International
Track Classic and Miracle Mile to be held on May 22nd,
2002. PacificSport is also a hosting partner of this event,
the first in The Times Colonist Three Waves sport series.
This series also includes the Bastion Square Cycling Festival
and the Gorge Swim Festival.
A special thank you must go to the Times Colonist for
their generous support of this event for the past twelve
years. Watch the Times Colonist for more race details,
including results after the race!
